Zapatilla means “shoe“, but also “Stomping” in the Spanish slang.I remember being on one of this massive house parties in Brighton around 3 years ago where everybody was in fancy dress and stomping on the dance floor at 9 in the morning, when the dj played an emblematic Plastikman’s tune, a couple of Spanish people went happily crazy and started to shout to the dj “ZAPATILLA, this is proper ZAPATILLA…!!!” and from that moment on we knew the collective got named.
Zapatilla Productions NON-STOP get the suffix from all that non-stop parties; raves, squats, free parties, improvised after hours in someone’s house etc… now a days many things are going on still, Zapatilla is promoting parties around clubs in Brighton, offering services of marketing, promotion and P.R. to other important clubs and corporations; sending dj’s from the collective abroad to mix in the Madrid club scene… but never loosing this non-stop energy that keep us alive.
The 3rd of November will be the anniversary of Zapatilla from back when we officially started promoting a night in an unknown venue in central Brighton, now we celebrate the event of our Birthday at Pressure Point with the following line up:
